Jerome John Garcia (August 1, 1942 – August 9, 1995) was an American artist lyricist, and guitarist, most popular for being a chief musician, the lead guitarist, and a performer with the musical crew the Grateful Dead, of which he was an establishing part and which came to noticeable quality during the nonconformity of the 1960s. In spite of the fact that he denied the job, Garcia was seen by numerous individuals as the head of the band.

You have to get past the idea that music has to be one thing. To be alive in America is to hear all kinds of music constantly: radio, records, churches, cats on the street, everywhere music. And with records, the whole history of music is open to everyone who wants to hear it.
